Terrace Mountain, acrylic on canvas - $1,200 Coastal Mountains, acrylic on canvas - $3,500 This summer I flew to Vancouver, BC to attend a wedding. The whole flight my jaw dropped looking out the window at the seemingly endless mountains, the blue glacier lakes, the valleys, the winding rivers, and I started to think about how cool it was to see earth from completely above it. How many people have had the chance to see that - earth from above? Well, people have only been flying for what, 100 years? And even then, it's not like once the first plane took off, everyone got the chance to do it too. Heck, I know people now that have never flown once in their life, in 2022! That's crazy to me. As cheesy as it was, I had this overwhelming sense of how lucky I was to see this. I so badly wanted to preserve this feeling and dreamt of doing my biggest painting yet! I took the photo from the plane on September 2, purchased canvas on September 7, and took my finished photo of it on September 12. I have never been so motivated in my life! Of all the paintings I've done, this is one of my favourites. Canadian Rockies, oil on canvas - $950 Full Moon Glow, acrylic on canvas - $800 |
