Artist Biography: Marie-Christine
Claveau Marie-Christine Claveau is an
established Canadian painter who grew up in Saguenay Lac StJean,
Québec, where she developed a deep appreciation for nature. She moved
to British Columbia in the early 2000s and spend many years working
forestry and exploring the province. Now residing in Rosswood, BC, on
Traditional Kitsumkalum territories, Claveau’s vibrant acrylic paintings are
informed by her experiences in the outdoors and are inspired by the
diversity of landscapes, reflecting her passion for the wilderness. Her
colourful compositions capture the dynamic beauty of the natural world,
blending realism with abstraction, inviting viewers to experience the
wonders of nature through her art. Associate Member of the Federation of
Canadian Artists and an Elected Member of the Society of Canadian
Artists, Claveau has exhibited widely across Canada.
Artist Statement: My art is a tribute to the natural beauty that surrounds
us and a call to appreciate and protect it. For this exhibition, I draw
inspiration from the pristine landscape of Canada. My acrylic paintings
capture the vibrant energy of nature from one ocean to the other, aiming to
foster a deeper connection between people and the environment. Through
my work, I hope to inspire a sense of stewardship for our planet.
