Fall 2019

Water Ways
On now until December 10th

Water is a way of life for the inhabitants in the Skeena Watershed. From Prince Rupert to Smithers, the artists presented here illustrate the expansiveness of the water system of the region surrounding YXT. Lynn Cociani captures fleeting glimpses of water along the road way, offering a moment to reflect on the beauty that often passes us by. Mark Tworow images picturesque moments of reprise, paintings of places that draw us in deep, affecting a pause to soak it all in. Suzo Hickey extracts the interesting in the ordinary: the shipping vessel in the harbour, the waterfronts we frequent. With study of detail a hidden beauty is revealed. Together these artists’ work shows the visual richness of bodies of water in Northwest British Columbia.
